BRIEF ITINERARY

KHARKHORIN ELSENTASARKHAI 3 DAY TRIP
Day 1. Travel back in time to Kharkhorin
Ulaanbaatar –via Khustai national park – Kharkhorin 420km
• Journey to Khustai Reserve that houses the Przewalski horses(takhi). Twilight is the best moment to observe them. We'll walk until the river where they drink, and observe them with no fear to bother.
• Visit of Erdene Zuu Monastery, built in 1586 by a nomad prince. The Chinese and Tibetan-inspired buildings are surrounded with 108 sacred stupas. Visit of the Museum of Kharkhorin.
• Stay overnight: Gaya’s guesthouse or Tourist ger camp or Nomadic family ger
Day 2. Joys of desert in Khogno Khan
Kharkhorin – Semi Gobi Desert 100km
• Arrival in the Khogno Khan National Park.
• Pony trek until Erdene Khambiin Monastery. "Monk Erdene's Monastery" dates from 17th century and was built in the mountain. Zanabazar built it in honour of his teacher, monk Erdene.
• Visit of the sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai.
• Camel ride to sand dunes
• Stay overnight: Nomadic family’s ger or tourist camp
Day 3. Back to the Mongolian capital
Semi gobi desert – Ulaanbaatar 280km
• We will go horse trekking along steppe
• Back to Ulan-Bator. Last herds of wild horses crossing the road outside our dumbfounded eyes, last yurts smoking far away, the steppe will be with us until the last moment. Arrival in town and settling in at your hotel, where you can rest a few moments.
• Rest of the day free. With our guide, you can go and shop in the centre of the city.

Please do not hesitate to contact me immediately. I advise a lot. Please prepare suitable clothing to run by bicycle. There is a temperature difference between day and night, so please bring more clothing change. Because rainy day is also assumed, please bring clothes that are difficult to get wet. Flashlights and lights are of course necessities.
