General description
The Naadam festival is the biggest and most joyful celebration for Mongolians. It takes place each year on the 11-12th of July. The festival originated from the era of Khunnu Empire and was originally organized as a competition to test the skills of Mongolian Warriors between tribes. The festival comprises the "Three Manly Sports": wrestling, horse racing and archery. During this first day, we will enjoy from the stands of the stadium the colorful show given for the game's opening ceremony. It will then be time to see the beginning of the Mongolian wrestlingcompetition. In the aisles of the stadium, we also witness the archery and ankle bone shooting competitions. After Drawing herdsmen and their race horses from hundreds of miles around, races are staged on the vast steppes covering distances of up to 20 miles in 6 different age categories. We highly recommend booking early for our Naadam Festival departure.

NAADAM EVENT 1 DAY tour ITINERARY

• 7:30. Departure from “Mongolia Vision Tours”.

• 8:00 We will have a breakfast in the restaurant.

• 9:00Drive to Chinggis Square to see the ceremony of placing The National 9 White Banner in the Central Stadium

• 10:00 directly drive to Central Stadium. We will be viewing the Opening Ceremony. Naadam festival is opened officially by the President of Mongolia. At the stadium, a huge procession is held including hundreds of adults and children dressed in costumes representing Mongolia’s numerous ethnic groups. It features a colorful show with folk music and dance and more. After that you will see archery competitions where contestants can only rely on his keen eye, firm hand and experience, take aim at a target of first-sized baskets; and ankle bone shooting competition. The first round of wrestling will start immediately thereafter.

• 12:30 Drive to Khui Doloon Khudagthe horse racing field. Mongol horse racing is part of a living cultural heritage.The best horses from across the country meet in Ulaanbaatar for these races crucially important. Mongolian people train horses in their very nature, and win the race in Ulaanbaatar bring them immense glory. We are witnessing the first race.

• Depending on driving hours and traffic jam lunch will be picnic package.

• After the horse will arrive at the finish line guests shall be back at the bus and have short tea break.

• Back to Ulan-Bator. Arrival in town and settling in at your accommodation, where you can rest a few moments

ADVICE TOUR

Please do not hesitate to contact me immediately. I advise a lot. Please prepare suitable clothing to run by bicycle. There is a temperature difference between day and night, so please bring more clothing change. Because rainy day is also assumed, please bring clothes that are difficult to get wet. Flashlights and lights are of course necessities.
